Dr Sandeep Tammareddy is the Founder member and heads the Department of Neonatology at Blossoms Children’s Hospital. He received his training in Pediatrics from Vaidehi Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangalore. He pursued his Fellowship in Neonatology from Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Hyderabad. He has more than 8 years of experience in treating sick children and newborn babies. He is a special invitee for many of the national and regional conferences on newborn care. He is one of the youngest doctors to shoulder the responsibility of the General Secretary for the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) Chapter of Krishna District. He extends his philanthropic work through Rotary Club of Vijayawada.

He believes and advocates what William Wordsworth once said, “Child is the Father of man”. “Saving the life of a sick child is just not enough. Giving the baby a good quality of life is also very important. The way a newborn baby or a child is nurtured after he recovers from acute illness decides the way the baby grows up into a fruitful adult. So care doesn’t end with saving a life. Add quality to life” he quotes. True to his thoughts and mission, “Tender Care for Tiny Lives”, the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Blossoms Mother and Child Unit strives to give comprehensive care for the newborn which include aspects like metabolic screens, hearing tests, neurodevelopmental assessment, physiotherapy, counselling sessions for parents etc in addition to routine care of the sick newborn.

His special areas of interest include management of extreme preterm babies , Head cooling and Total body cooling for Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) , management of Necrotizing Enterocolitis and Neonatal respiratory distress syndromes.
